Trip To The Philippines

Destination: CEBU, PHILIPPINES.
Plane: CEBU PACIFIC
26 Nov- 30 N0v

I arrived at Cebu in the middle of the night. We took a cab to Microtel, our hotel for the first two days. The hotel Microtel was owned by the president of Cebu. I thought it was owned by Bill Gates. The swimming pool in Microtel was full of salt water as the water in the pool was from the beach! Next to Microtel was a beach. I found quite a number of shells. But the sand in the beach was not smooth; it was rough , and rocks could be found on the surface of the sand. So we went back to the salt swimming pool. For dinner, WM ordered spicy tom yam soup and fish and veg. The next day, we took a gypny ( or something else like that. ) Anyway, this strange vehicle is like a truck used to transport workers in Singapore, but in Cebu, they use this vehicle to transport tourists and citizens to different destinations. ( It's kind of a taxi, but the only different thing is that you have strangers taking a ride with you.)

We checked out the next day and took a taxi to the Crown Regency, our second hotel we were staying in. To get to our hotel room in the Crown Regency, we had to take different lifts, from one tower to another. ( There were 38 floors! ) But before we reached the hotel, we had lunch at the Lighthouse Restaurant, a restaurant that sells seafood. ( The shells of the clams were enormous!) I also visited a guitar factory. I bought a miniature guitar as a souvenir.
Next, our taxi driver took us to the 7D (TM) Mango Factory. I hate mangoes. Anyway, after visiting the mango factory, we went back to our hotel. The good thing about Crown Regency was that there was a McDonald's next to the hotel. I drank a Starbucks Ice Blended Drink. Starbucks was also next to the hotel.

The next day,( also our last day in Cebu), we went to Jollibee, Philippine's answer to McDonald's, for lunch. I never tasted such rubber- like pasta before. Bleccchhh!! We also went to SM City, a shopping mall in Cebu, to shop. Then after a long, boring ride .......

To cut the long story short, we arrived in the airport of Cebu. I had Chicken MSG Flavoured Cup Noodles With Glucose for dinner in the 'plane. When we reached Changi Airport, WM had to rush to another terminal to take a plane to Europe for a conference. The rest of us ( excluding WM ), took a taxi back home.

Facebook

Facebook has been the latest talk around my school. I know that you must be atleast 18 or above to sign up for Facebook, so my classmates fake their age. Imagine a boy with ash black hair saying, '' I'm a 100 years old. '' What a joke.

I find it funny. My classmates always meet each other at school so why bother talking on the Net again? Who knows? Maybe next time my friends will have a Twitter account.

Thanksgiving Is Near

November 29th has always been a frightening day for turkeys. Why? It's Thanksgiving. And by the end of the day, one poor turkey would be served from the oven.

Turkey. Not the bird, but the country. You may think turkeys like Turkey, but if a Turkish farmer kills turkeys, they don't. Well, I am not a fan of turkeys. I prefer roast chicken. Nor do I like geese.

The farmer's wife can't wait for 29th of November to come.

The Amazing George Ring

Hello, readers. I've not blogged for quite a long time because some person called BILE GATES sold me a new computer but when I used that new computer, it somehow managed to transmit viruses to my old computer. After that, the new computer exploded. Anyway, as it says on the title, I'm amazing for now. Why? Because I CAN SEE YOUR EVERY MOVE FOR JUST 19 seconds. Let's see...
1. You're probably sitting.
2. You're are probably thinking I cannot see your every move for 19 seconds.......

I'm just using the word '' probably '' for the first two statements. But there is something I know that you are definitely doing.

3. You're reading this new post by GEORGE RING.

Ha ha. Lousy magic. Goodbye.

Mooncake Festival

I am not a fan of mooncakes at all. I do not like to eat mooncakes until... CW made one. One mooncake with no fillings. I like mooncakes with no fillings so the thing that I hate about the shops that sell mooncakes is that they GIVE FILLINGS! Why don't they spare a thought for other children who love ( oops, sorry, it should be loathe ) egg yolks, almond and other fillings the shops put in the mooncakes. Maybe it's the tradition. Do you reader, like mooncakes. Send in your answer to this question if you do:

Do you want fillings in your mooncakes?

SEND OR MAIL your answer if you like to a button you'll see below. Send your answer to the orange button that says MY COMMENTS.

Ice- Cream, My Favourite Treat

Hello, readers, it's me again. Just a few weeks ago, I went to the Changi Airport to have lunch with NW and CW. We went to Earle Swensen's and had ice- cream. Do you like or love ice- cream? For me, I do. I especially love shebert/sherbert/sorbert. My favourite shebert flavour is lemon. It's such a pity that Swensen's only has lime or strawberry shebert. I ordered a Topless Five. The flavours was: Sticky Chewy Chocolate, Mocca Almond Fudge, Coffee, Chocolate Frosted Malt and Lime Shebert. Now, do you know what I think of Sticky Chewy Chocolate? I think it looks like dung/shit. Really, that's what I think. I like creamy and sour Ice Cream. If I had a tub of ice- cream in front of me, I gobble it down in a sec ( or maybe longer ). I bet that Vanilla Ice loved eating Vanilla Ice- Cream. Hah!

There's 2 ice- cream stores next to my school. One sells his ice- cream at 50 cents while the other sells his ice- cream at $1. I always buy the expensive one. Is that dumb or what? But still, the more expensive ice cream has a bigger portion. Reader, which stall do YOU think that I should buy from? Send your idea to MY COMMENTS.

THANKS,
George Ring

Broken Tooth

Today HW's tooth fell! There was so much blood everywhere. He finally had a adult tooth! When my tooth fell off, there wasn't any blood at all. Why? The simple answer is... my tooth was dead. The difference between dead teeth and alive teeth is their colour. Alive and healthy teeth are either yellow ( if you do not brush your teeth ), white ( if you whitened it or brushed it everyday). Dead teeth are grey. There was once I put my dead tooth under my pillow and guess what? The grey tooth became a purple $2 note. Was it my mother who put it or the tooth fairy? Do you, reader, believe in the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, Jack Frost or the Tooth Fairy? Whether all these people exist or not, it is still a mystery. ( Except for the man in red and white suit that lives in Finland. )

Also, my EXAMS have started. I kind of hate exams. I love English, Mathematics and Science, but I hate Mother Tongue. Finally, this Monday is the finals of PESA. If you reader, think I misspelled PEAS as PESA, you're wrong. Kindly scroll down this web page and read about PESA and WHAT IT MEANS.

Sincerely,

Protect The Trees

Today my snotty Health Ed teacher kept talking about protecting the enviorement, don't waste paper and other stuff and nonsense. Worst of all, she asked us to EAT VEGGIES! I will be harming the plants if I do that. I prefer eating flesh than fresh vegs!!! I hate string beans BLAH, BLAH.....

Relax, readers. The nonsense you have just read is by a Africa man who eats humans. I won't write things like that. I LOVE veggies. I like it! But even though I like eating vegetables, there are some people that eat just vegetables ( NO RICE ), and are super eco- green. They K-I-L-L people who waste paper and they shoot construction workers who kill trees to make condos. They even have a group name. Guess what is it. They specialise in saving trees and they respect trees! They are called the Fellowship and Ancient Rights of Trees. FARTers, in short. You don't believe me right? Then check out their website!
www.farters.com/FARTers/Earth/20%search.world
Doubting me still, right? In that case, go double check by asking a health nut: "Who are FARTers?"

Also, just SWALLOW the veggies when you eat them. Why? It is because I am a part- time mad scientist. When you swallow the vegetables, you will choke. When you choke, you will vomit. So I want you to observe what is the color of the puke. When you feel better, type the color of the sick into MY COMMENTS.

Remember, eat vegetables, not veg with table.
Shut down the computer NOW and beg with your mom to cook you vegetables.
Your writer with a grin on his face, not a green on the faece,

One Night Stay In Crowne Plaza @ Changi Airport

Welcome, my dear readers. Just yesterday, Singapore celebrated its 44th birthday. Singapore sure is quite "old". Now, everyone celebrated National Day differently. Some went shopping, some held parties in their HDB flats, condos, bungalows and in other places. Some went to the Marina Foating Bay to watch the NDP parade. But for me, I went to a hotel in Changi Airport to get a view of the fireworks. Some of the readers reading this may have gone to other hotels too to watch the parade and also not having to drive all the way to Marina. ( Recognize anyone? )

You see, I had gotten a free room on the 9th floor of Crowne Plaza @ Changi airport. And that is the tallest level. Normally, without any free rooms or discount tickets, the amount you must pay just to stay for a night will burn a hole in your pockets.

I could also hear the chimes during the Pledge Moment at 8:22. ( Why must it be 8:22, not 7:22 or 6:22? ) I saw the golden fireworks from the windows at the hotel room. Even though in Changi, the far away fireworks in Marina could still be seen. Too bad I had to check out at EXACTLY 12 am, 59 minutes and 58 seconds. I hope I would have the free room NEXT year.

Goodbye folks and my heart will forever be thumping up and my hand will be reaching down,
Your writer,

George Ring

Plain English Speaking Awards 2009

Just yesterday, I participated in the semi- finals of a competition called '' Plain English Speaking Awards '', which is PESA in short. When I say ' Plain English ', I do not mean the " plain " as in '' Plain Waffle ''. What Plain English means is using simple words that everyone will understand and it also means not using BIG words like '' philosophy '', '' aromatic '' and.... you get the idea. This competition is a storytelling competition, but not just saying any story but a story with simple words like ' big ' instead of ' GIGANTIC '. Last year, this competition was 22 years old. Now it's turned 23 years old. Last year when I was still a puny P2, I went to the competition too and lost during the preliminary rounds. Now this year, I managed to get into the semi- finals and just yesterday, I received news that I was a finalist, which also means that I went to the finals! ( What great achievement ! )

Another good thing is that - BURP - my teacher still owes me a McDonald's treat! She bet with me initially that if I went to the semi- finals, she would buy me a McDonald's meal. When I went to the semi, she said that she would buy me ANOTHER McDonald meal! She bought one value meal for me, but she stills owes me another meal! So dear teacher, if you are reading this, remember, next time bet with something else cheaper!

The FINALS are coming soon and I do hope I will win. Now, I'm signing off as I need to finish my unfinished fries and fish burger.

Until that, I'll always be your writer and eater,

GEORGE RING

Holiday Trip To MALAYSIA

Hello…. I’m finally back from my holiday. Let me tell you about it. It’s ‘interesting’. Really! Trust me. Anyway, it was around 8 am when we departed. We had breakfast in McDonald’s and after we had our breakfast, we went to the Woodlands checkpoint. I do not like my new passport. My passport photo looks so…., well, that is another (boring) story.

And so began our journey to KL. Well, sorry, I was SLEEPING throughout the WHOLE journey and I only woke up when we reached the rest station. For lunch or luncheon, we went to KFC. After eating, we continued our journey and, shortly, we arrived at Holiday Inn. To me it was a short while because I was sleeping, again. We checked in at the hotel, and, once again, went to bed. Later during night time, we went to Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall to, of course, shop.

The next day, I found myself in a bad hair day… We shouldn’t talk about that. Let us go faster…………….. We went to Sunway Lagoon. We were supposed to wear wristbands. First, we went wild with water. I sat on rubber float and went down a very long spiral waterslide. And it was totally covered. WM sat in front of me. I could feel, but I could not see. It was pitch dark, then….. SPLASH! End of the fun.

Later, after changing back to plain clothes, not a wet swimsuit, we went mad in the Cowboy’s Boots. I had to sit alone in a boot and buckle up. A man came to check whether we were buckled properly and then….. BEEP…… We went turning around. And then it went faster. So fast that I wanted to puke. Suddenly, the boots slow downed. Just when I thought it was time to go…. BEEP….. We were turning round and round again. When, finally, the boots really stopped, I felt so dizzy. Next, we went to the mini roller coaster. I sat alone, while WM sat with HW. Actually, I was not scared at all, but I don’t know why…. I just screamed. After all the fun activities, we went to the gift shop to exchange our wristbands for wristwatches. Actually, if you did not take the watch, you would get RM 10 back. But if you wanted a watch, you would not get your RM 10 back. And I think these China made watches only cost RM 1 each.

Last day in Holiday Inn….J, but….. not last day in Malaysia. We drove to Crowne Plaza and took a walk to the Aquarias the next day. What….. I know you may be searching the dictionary now or asking : What on Jupiter is Aquarias.ng the dictionary now or asking:???? I’ll explain…… It is the name of a place and it let’s you admire the beautiful sea creatures and some tropical animal for a fee, of course. At the entrance, there was a huge tank of MAN- EATING FISH,, Piranhas to be exact. Fall inside the tank, don’t even think a teenie weenie of getting out alive. Next, we went to the Aqua-Theatre to watch divers feed sharks and stingrays. He took a picture with me, too. For lunch, we went to Kenny Roger’s Roasters. I like the homemade muffins. And the chicken is the nicest. Later, we took a rest at the hotel, went for dinner and the next day was our last day in KL.

On the way back home, we stopped over at Malacca for lunch. I had a plate of chicken rice. It was not as nice as Singapore’s chicken rice. Actually, I wanted to have a McDonald’s chocolate sundae but the queue was too long. WM even tricked me into eating…. DURIAN chendol!!! I have always hated durian since young and now hate durian chendol even more.

We came back to Singapore on Sunday and on Friday, it was off to Malaysia again. This time, we went to Desaru. We first went to Kotatinggi waterfall to waddle in water. While walking on the steps, I felt something scaly. Still I continued walking. Then, WM yelled at me. I turned and saw a snake slithering away, its tongue so red! It was quite deep in the water and we had to step and hold onto the big rocks to move around. But the rocks were very slimy because of the algae. I nearly fell when trying to hold the rocks. Luckily WM carried me up. After all the swimming, I went to the loo\ toilet\ dunny\ washroom\WC\jerry\washroom\bathroom or whatever you call it, to wash up. Then, on our way to Desaru, we stopped for lunch at Jade Garden Restaurant located in Sungei Renggit. I like the lobster served there. The lobsters are so crispy that you can eat every part of the lobster, shell or meat.

Delicious Donuts

Finally after looking at cookbooks, CW has found a perfect recipe to make donuts and the donuts are tasty. The cookbook is called ''Bread Winners ''. But I still think Donut Empire's donuts are tastier.

WHY DO THEY CALL IT A DONUT?
-----------------------------------------------------------
Here are some comments by readers

COOKINGMAMA@yahoo.com says: ''The first flavour of a doughnut was chocolates and nuts'?''
SQUIRRELeatNut@gmail.com says: " I think' if you make a PERFECT donut, yer get a nut, ''
ScEiNtIsTabout FOOD@ hotmail.com says: '' Invented by a loony nut????"

What do you think?

Gross Things In Your Body Considered As Food

Really gross...........

1. SNOT- Doing a survey, I found out that over 600 pupils ( and counting ) in my class eat snot everyday at least once.

2. MUCUS- A lot of people are lazy to grab a hanky so they lick their mucus instead!

3. EARWAX- When you are trying to hear but there is earwax stuck in your ear, you hastily shove away the earwax and - plop - in lands in your mouth.

4. NAIL DIRT- When your nails are dirty, you may just forget about it. But MOST people are corncerned about their beauty, so they SUCK THE DIRT OFF, BITING OFF THE NAILS, which, also makes them ugly!

How Time Flies

I just had prepared for CA1 not long ago but now I'm going to prepare for SA1. The clock seems to be faster now but the days seem longer too. Very soon, it will be May. Time did not pass that quickly last year. This year, it is completely different! But that's also quite a good thing. December will come faster and Santa Claus will give a present faster! I just which the day would be longer and clocks will freeze. Then I will have more time to prepare for my exams! But it's a fact that time passes quickly. I cannot escape it...........

Earth Hour

Just a few minutes ago, Earth Hour ended. It was kind of creepy with no lights on. Did you turn off your lights and all other things that need electricity? For me, during Earth Hour was the most darkest hour of my lifetime. Even going to the toilet needed a torchlight! I can imagine how it was like in the past, when people's electricity got struck by the lightning, they still could see, cook or even read! But I cannot. Now I know how lucky I am to have light and electricity. Earth Hour sure thought me something. Thank goodness Earth Hour is only held once a year........

Trip To Chinatown

Today I took a brand new bus to Chinatown. We then walked by foot to the Chinatown Heritage Center. All sorts of things that talked about the past were there. I liked the part when the tour guide showed us food that looked real, felt real, but it was actually fake food. It could not be eaten. But one horrible part is when I walked around the olden houses in the Heritage, I almost puked. Toy lizards were glued everywhere. Rubber cockroaches were scattered everywhere in the toilet. And when I looked at the toilet bowl....... I was so shocked! Rubber shit were in the toilet bowl and it could not be flushed!
I'm lucky to have such a nice house. Also, three or four families share the same room! Life sure was hard in the past!!!! But Chinatown is very big. I may explore some more!

The Power Of Lingering

Not the one that means staying and walking around! The one that has something to do with FOOD! Suddenly, I have the ability to linger. Like last night, an hour after when eating macaroni and cheese, I could still feel the sticky Parmesan and cheddar cheese and some macaroni with meatball sauce in my mouth! Then I would suddenly feel like eating it! But strange, I'm not born in the year of the Pig!! Same thing for the bread I had for breakfast today! In school, I could still feel the crumbs and the chocolate sauce in my mouth! Why? It makes me so tempted to eat whatever I'm lingering! This ability is so bad!

New Year, OLD Ideas

Hi there. If you, reader, have any children, ask them if their school's Sports Carnival is lame. For my school, the Sports Carnival always repeats its same old ideas. Also, the letter that told my parents what the Sports Carnival has said that there will be a bun and a drink for break time but instead the school only gave us a chocolate bun! Stop reading, reader. You may think the '' Chocolate Bun'' part may be good, but in the packaging there were some bitter things that I still have not found out what it is. After eating half of the bun, I got sick of it so I threw it away. That's not all. During the opening ceremony of the Sports Carnival, they put up a banner saying ,'' Beijing Olympics 2008 ''. It's already 2009 now! And why must the school follow everything occording to '' Olympic '' style? Can't the school just change a little bit of the rules. It's not fun if they don't! Finally during the prize ceremony, our class got a silver medal but when I went home, the medal and the clip attached to the '' string '' had dropped. Such lousy quality! Well, looks like that's all for today, folks!

Labrador Park

LABRADOR PARK

Today I went to Labrador Park. It was kind of a nature reserve, but it also had artifacts about World War 2. It was amazing, but it was tiring walking around the whole mountain! I also discovered an old, old secret tunnel. Too bad it was locked. I wonder what kind of stuff was in the tunnels. Dead bodies? There were a lot of cannons in the nature reserve. ( Rest assured, there were no gunpowder and cannonballs inside the cannon.)
There was army storerooms too. They were sealed up. If the storerooms were not sealed, I would explore the storerooms. Along the way, I also saw the Dragon Teeth Gate. ( The fake one, not the real one. ) The so-called '' Dragon Teeth Gate '' looked so red! Did dragons ever have red teeth? I don't know. When I was heading back to the car, I saw people fishing. Why do people like to fish? Won't it be easier to buy a fish??? Labrador Park is so mysterious.....

Afternoon Session For P3s

I don't know about other schools, but my school only has a morning session. This is so bad! You have to wake up early and rush if you wake up late. Actually, P2 was better. But there's one good thing about P3. I'm older!!!!!!! But that is needless to say. The worst subject for me this year is still Mother Tongue, and I'm sure it'll always be! What about you? Tell me.............

Too Much Dirt

Today was one tough day for CW as she had to do spring cleaning. But for me, it was a frightening day. After vacuuming the whole house, CW went to the toilet and showed me what she had collected for spring cleaning. Yucks, the thought made me shudder........... CW used her bare hands to dig out a lump of dirty hair- like dirt. CW explained to me that it was actually water mixed with dirt. And when I saw the water in the vacuum cleaner that was at first clear , I almost puked! The colour of the water was super duper black! Yuck. So now I'm not so sure you will have a bright year of the Ox after reading this. Better run!

Delicious Cup Noodles

Today, CW let me eat cup noodles. Mmm........... I love it! I really thank the Japanese for making such a splendid thing. CW and WM say that I'm silly because only a hungry Cambodian loves cup noodles that much. But of course everyone in Singapore would at least like it a little bit or like it alot or else there would't be this saying on the packaging of Maggi's Instant noodles: Singapore's No.1 choice. Don't you agree? I give thumbs up for cup noodles and instant noodles

Where Has The Cat Went?

Look here. It's now new year. And of course, everyone knows this year is the year of the Ox. I find it strange. One of the most common stray animal you see on the streets is a big fat ( or skinny ) cat. So why isn't there any year of the Cat?? I wish there would be year of the Cat! Readers, don't yer think so. Anyway, a Happy New Year to you! Bye...........

It's Not Worth It

You can say that I love McDonald's food, but when it comes to the money and servings of the dish, it's a no-no. I'm not talking about any dish. I'm talking about the new curly fries for CNY. It costs more than the normal fries but it's amount of fries are lesser than the normal fries. I still prefer the normal, golden fries. What about you reader? Tell me!

The Weekends Sure Are Good

YES!!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow sure is a good day. Guess what special day is it? It's Saturday!!!! So that means no school! And no school means no need to wake up early! I must sleep for a long time tomorrow! But, sigh, I have TONS and TONS of home work! I better finish it by today. And also, the ice- cream store next to my school is a cool place. They sell ice-cream floats! See yer!

Wednesday, 7 January 2009

Happy 2009

Hooray! It's already the seventh day of 2009! And I'm finally P3. I kinda dislike P3 because I have to wake up real early. And when I say early, it's really early. Now there's one more subject I have to learn. It's science. P3 is really difficult. So I guess I won't need to guess what will happen when I'm P4, P5 and P6. This year is a TOUGH year........

2oo9. Share yer ideas!!!!! What do you think will happen this year? Tell me!
